I would like to submit an Electronic Promo Kit for my group Sumkali for your festival in 2010. Could you please let me know who I can e-mail it to? Thanks.
When you are considering hiring Blues acts for your upcoming events, please consider the Boa Constrictors.
We are a Blues band with a true Michigan pedigree. We have members from Detroit, Lansing, and Grand Rapids, so when you come to a Boa Constrictors concert, you are hearing REAL Michigan Blues, and that’s a fact!
In the short time we’ve been around as a band, we have been fortunate to open shows for Charlie Musselwhite, Jason Ricci and New Blood, and the legendary Motown session-band, the Funk Brothers, as well as acting as the backing band for ex-Fleetwood Mac guitarist Jeremy Spencer and soon to be backing Big Bill Morganfield (Muddy Waters Son).
Our influences come from the Chicago harmonica bands of Little Walter, Junior Wells, and Sonny Boy Williamson, as well as the swinging guitar styles of B.B King and T-Bone Walker. Add to this a large helping of classic boogie piano and groovy B-3 organ, and you have a Boa Constrictors show!
We have a heavy dose of Detroit Blues influence as well — members of our band have played with the legendary Detroit artists Billy Davis, Alberta Adams, Lazy Lester, Little Junior Cannaday, the Butler Twins, Eddie Kirkland, Harmonica Shah, and Uncle Jesse White.
Each member of the Boa Constrictors brings a unique life experience to the band, both musically and personally. From large venues like Bluesfest International in Windsor Ontario, to the smallest bar, restaurant, or juke-joint, our shows are always spontaneous, energetic, and fun. And full of the honesty and sincerity that makes Blues the most exciting American musical art form.
Please visit our website at http://www.theboaconstrictors.com. Please browse your way through our photos and upcoming shows, and see what others are saying about our band.

There will be both car camping and parking for people who want to put their tent up in “tent city” which is close to the main stage with a partial view of stage. We have 24+ acres for car camoing that is all on site.
Pat,
Sorry, I’ve been swamped. We did focus on local talent, unfortunately, we couldn’t get everyone in. I don’t remember getting a call from you, what band are you with? This forum has not been a consistant form of communication as I’ve been doing most of the booking thru email. I apologize, I’ve sincerely made an effort to include as many regulars as possible. I’ve been on the job for 6 weeks now and there’s been alot to deal with. Don’t give up on us, we care, we really do. Give me a call and we can talk about it.
what the heck does a local have to do to get in or get a reply? I performed at the Nor-Eastr with Mississippi Weepin Willie and the Wolfboy and have been performing 30 years! I’ve written you folks 3 times without a response!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I boost Empire and every year have done downtown pumpkin carving demos to raise money for local charities…I’m also the guy out there in the wetsuit in winter…what’s a person have to do to get noticed around here! I know it’s too late now but I’d hope you were about local talent!
Hi Mark,
Sorry for the delayed response, things have been very busy. Sorry we didn’t get you in this year. Keep in touch and let’s do it next year. Hope to see you there.
we had to have been one of the first bands to volunteer to play free-of-charge, and have gotten no response.we are all leelanau county residents of up to 30+ years.we don’t play out much, however, we’ve been together 6 years, used to play at boondocks on sat. nites., and benchwarmers. because of our professional schedules, it’s hard to make summer-long commitments at local establishments. We play probably the most varied spectrum of music of any band you will book.we just want TO HAVE FUN, and will draw a lot of locals.please let us know!!!Mark Martin
I’m still curious if there is a family camping site? Also, one note says the headliner is going on at midnight, is this correct? We have a 2 year old we want to bring, but have some concerns about quiet times. Thanks!
Greetings, This is Rod with JAM REK, a West African style drum troupe. We are interested in playing DUNEGRASS.
